ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES shall include, but not be limited to the following:
- Meet and instruct assigned activities in the locations and times designated
- Create an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
- Prepare for assignments
- Encourage students to set and maintain acceptable standards of behavior
- Employ a variety of techniques to enhance the activity
- Assist students to become self-directed learners
- Understand and apply knowledge about student growth and development in order to provide maximum student learning
- Implement the District’s philosophy of education
- Enforce safety precautions and guidelines to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities
- Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by laws, District policy and administrative regulations
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student behavior and conduct
- Enforce and follow the policies and administrative regulations of the District
- Knowledge of equipment and maintenance and repair, rules and regulations governing equipment and proper usage of equipment
- Knowledge of muscular physiology, specific motor skill development methods and strengthening and stretching techniques
- Development of sport specific fitness
- Athletic training, tape, bandage, brace, injury prevention and rehab
- Perform all duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Coaches shall be approved in accordance with the personnel policies of the school district and in accordance with the Arizona Revised Statutes. Playing experience, knowledge of football techniques and strategies and motivator of players.
